SIREWALL Expands with Licensees in New Markets

December 1, 2008

Utah, Idaho, Washington, British Columbia, Ontario… SIREWALL is expanding quickly to serve new markets. SIREWALL Founder Meror Krayenhoff decided to grow with a network of like-minded visionaries to create a much larger positive impact on the built environment. With mainstream awareness rising on building green, this broader base of SIREWALL Licensees have the potential to develop a new standard for healthy, efficient homes and buildings – a standard that can be proudly shared around the globe.

The SIREWALL Team, consisting of the original inventors and developers of insulated rammed earth technology in collaboration with SIREWALL Licensees and trained SIREWALL Project Managers, have the broadest experience and scope of understanding of what works in varied commercial and residential applications. Specific skills on this expanded SIREWALL Team include two architects, three consulting engineers, two Master Earth Masons each with 16 years of insulated rammed earth experience, six highly trained SIREWALL Project Managers, and one commercial concrete gangforming expert.

A typical SIREWALL is 18″ to 24″ thick, stabilized with rebar and has 4″ of rigid insulation hidden in the centre of the wall. Heating and cooling is efficient and there is little or no maintenance with SIREWALLS. The materials are non-toxic and do not require chemical sealants or treatments. SIREWALLS have a distinctive, visceral connection to the earth that are not only stunning focal points, they are solid foundations with thermal mass beyond any other. With its ecological and health benefits, combined with beauty and durability, SIREWALLS are ideal for commercial buildings and residential homes that will create a lasting legacy.

Last month, SIREWALL’s new Licensees were immersed in a training program designed to get local teams ready to design and build in their territories. Breakthrough ideas and inspiration were consistent themes that generated enthusiasm and a sense of urgency to bring SIREWALL to their markets. Learning practical techniques and hands-on ramming along with group brainstorming, getting to know the support team, each Licensee’s expertise and SIREWALL Project Managers were just some of the essential training elements.

“I am very proud to be a new Licensee with the SIREWALL family. The time I recently spent on Salt Spring Island for the Licensee training course was enjoyable, enlightening and enriching; not only for me professionally, but personally as well.”–Bradley O. Mimlitz, Licensee, Park City, Utah
